Vultures overhead,
Gorging on the dead,
I see they’re bobbing in the breeze on the skyline,
Wasting away on the seaside.

Fuck the morning news,
Read papers, commute.
I see you skimming past the photo in the Tube’s light,
Eyes brimming with the salt, turn to your side.
Days on days they mourn,
Mount me on the throne.
Their bombs are kissing soil back on my grounds,
They roused the rubble and the debris in my home town.

You'll toss and turn when you dream of me.

Suits, they wine and dine,
Strive to feel alive,
But the cogs are grinding slower in the brain-bank,
Battery pack is flashing low within the chest-tank.

We draw the fever and the fury from the lay-man,
Pine for beauty and the home we left at those lands.

Close your eyes,
